Generate a dimensioned RCC column or beam section drawing straight from your design values. Enter the shape, dimensions, cover, concrete and steel strengths, and longitudinal/tie reinforcement per ACI 318 — for a rectangular tied column, a circular tied or spiral column, or a beam — and the tool lays out the bars, adds crossties automatically where the code requires them, and builds a dimensioned drawing with a reinforcement schedule and title block. Download the result as a DXF file that opens directly in AutoCAD (Save As DWG from there if you need the native format).
Any longitudinal bar count is supported — 4, 6, 8, 12, 16, 18, 22, 30, or any other number you enter. Corner bars are always forced for rectangular sections, bars are spaced evenly around the perimeter or circle, and the tool flags any layout that doesn’t split evenly across both axes so you can double-check it against your intended design.
What you get
- Rectangular tied columns, circular tied or spiral columns, and beam sections
- Automatic even bar distribution with forced corner bars (rectangular) or even spacing around the circle
- Automatic crossties wherever ACI 318 25.7.2 requires lateral support (150 mm / 6 in clear-distance rule)
- A “Suggest spacing” helper for tie spacing (25.7.2) and spiral pitch (25.7.3) as a code-minimum/maximum starting point
- Dimensioned drawing, reinforcement schedule and title block, on screen and in the downloaded DXF
- Metric (mm) or Imperial (in) units
Notes and limitations
Tie corners are drawn square — provide the standard bend radius in detailing. Dimensions and tie/spiral spacing notes are plain lines and text, not associative AutoCAD DIMENSION objects. Suggested tie spacing and spiral pitch are code-minimum/maximum starting points only; your final spacing must reflect your actual shear and confinement design. This tool lays out and dimensions the section you specify — it does not check flexural or shear capacity, and final acceptance of the drawing rests with the responsible engineer.
